Tracy Jones' Seminal "Humancloud Abandonment" Coming to Uncommon Records on January 22nd
Uncommon Records is proud to announce the release of Tracy Jones’ seminal album, Humancloud Abandonment, on January 22nd. This groundbreaking album was originally released by Uncommon in 2008, but the poetry driven flows and visual imagery were too far ahead of their time then. 2008 being that middle period between physical and digital retailing also didn’t help and buried this gem…until now.
The album has now been re-mastered, includes instrumentals and a remix by Uncommon Nasa. Tracy Jones was an Orlando transplant to New York City when this album was recorded during a time when Tracy was writing his first book of poetry and performing at the famed Nuyorican Poet’s Cafe on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
It’s a prophetic collection of thoughts produced mainly by Zesto Q, with an additional track produced by Algernon and Masai Bey respectively. The updated version includes an aforementioned remix of the title track by Uncommon Nasa as well.
After the albums recording and release, Tracy took off on a journey that took him to prolonged stops in California and Korea before settling down in Japan for a decade. He’s now made it back Stateside just in time to have his story re-told by Uncommon Records at a time when we feel confident that his sole recorded work will reach more ears.
The album release is paired with the first release from our new 45RPM 7” record label, Uncommon Restoration. Tracy Jones’ single features d.d.b. and the title track slid into an orange sleeve with an iconic full color label affixed.
Humancloud Abandonment can be digitally pre-ordered at our Bandcamp and will be available on all streaming services. Make sure to follow Tracy Jones on Spotify for updates. A video sneak peek of the album is available at our youtube page as well.
