An excerpt from Uncommon Nasa’s forward:

Back in 2010 when Masai Bey approached me about an alias-driven project it followed a trend of many artists of his caliber in underground hip-hop to do so, but of course this being driven by Masai - he was going to push this theme to the next level. Kitchen Khemistry was Masai Bey’s adventure into making a party record, but what he landed on was a perfect encapsulation of what it felt like to be in New York City in the early to mid 2000’s. This was a strange mid-period where new technology met old, in an era when Metrocards, cell phones and ATM Machines were still only about a decade into the mainstream and brand new to anyone reaching maturity regardless
